Red blood pythons or Sumatran blood pythons are a highly variable snake. The most desirable are the albino and deep red variations. Orange variations are also very appealing in color.

These snakes make ideal captives. They reach a moderate size of four to six feet, but their girth is what makes them impressive. They are some of the most vocal snakes, hissing and puffing; this isn't necessarily a form of aggression, but more so a form of communication. They are alert and very intriguing snakes to keep.

When these snakes were first imported, many did poorly and were mean tempered. Thanks to the likes of Dave and Tracy Barker of VPI, the 'reputation' of these snakes have changed immensley. When handled from a young age, these snakes can become very docile and a pleasure to interact with. Although there are a select few that do have 'attitudes,' but fortunately not many do. The key is to buy quality captive bred and born (cbb) animals, like the ones redpython offers.

We are currently working with albinos, super reds, and orange animals. Redpython hopes to offer a wide selection of captive bred animals in 2006!
